London Islamic School students benefited from a range of workshops Monday 01/02/16 to Friday 05/02/16 conducted by the Metropolitan Police covering a range of issues effecting young people within Tower Hamlets. Workshops were as follows:
Y7 – Offensive Weapons
Y8 – Misuse of Drugs
Y9 – Stop and Search
Y10 – Extremism
The students thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from the workshops which included a number of interactive activities which provided students with a real grasp of the issues covered. London Islamic School has been working closely with the Metropolitan Police engagement team for a number of years now delivering the above workshops as well as other relevant workshops delivered to both staff and students. Headteacher, Ustadh Abdulhadi Mamon said ‘We are extremely grateful to the Metropolitan Police for working with us to help educate our students, we at LIS wish to work collaboratively with external agencies in whatever capacity we are able to in order to benefit our students.
